According to information from the World Travel Awards (WTA), Vietnam's tourism received 6 nominations in the vote for the world's top award at the end of 2019.
Accordingly, the 6 "World's Leading" categories, including: World's Leading Cultural Destination 2019 (World's Leading Cultural Destination); World's Leading Destination (World's Leading Destination 2019); World's Leading Tourist Board, for the Vietnam National Administration of Tourism (World's Leading Tourist Board 2019); World's Leading City Destination 2019 (World's Leading City Destination 2019); World's Leading Culinary Destination (World's Leading Culinary Destination 2019); World's Leading Cultural City Destination 2019 (World's Leading Cultural City Destination 2019).
According to the Vietnam National Administration of Tourism, in recent years, Vietnam's tourism has experienced remarkable growth. In the period of 2015-2018, the number of international tourists to Vietnam has nearly doubled, from 7.9 million (2015) to 15.5 million (2018); The average growth rate is about 25% / year. This is considered the top high growth rate in the world according to the annual review of the World Tourism Organization (UNWTO).
The fact that Vietnam is nominated in many global categories is an opportunity to strongly promote Vietnam's image to the international community; at the same time, showing that Vietnam's tourism with outstanding values of nature, culture, cuisine ... has increasingly made its mark on the world tourism map.
This year, the awards ceremony for Asia will take place on 12-10-2019 in Phu Quoc (Kien Giang). The world awards ceremony was held in Muscat, Oman in November 2019.
