Xam singing festival of Northern provinces - 2019 organized by Ninh Binh province is expected to take place from 3-4/ 4 at Ninh Binh Convention Center with the participation of artisans and artists, Xam singing club in the Northern provinces and cities.
The festival program is co-operated by Ninh Binh Department of Culture and Sports in collaboration with the Department of Culture and Culture (Ministry of Culture, Sports and Tourism), Center for Research, Conservation and Promotion of Ethnic Music - National Institute for Conservation and Promotion of Ethnic Music organization.
The Opening Ceremony will take place at 19h30 on 3/12. Closing ceremony and award ceremony on the evening of 4/12. Each performance for the Festival takes 15-20 minutes, each unit will register to participate in 3-5 items.
The festival is an occasion to propagate and raise the awareness of all levels, sectors and communities in restoring, preserving and promoting traditional cultural values in general, and the art of Xam singing in particular (illustration image).
In addition to the contest entries, the Festival is expected to have additional sideline activities such as: Talk about the art of Xam singing; teams recruit incense to express their gratitude to artisan Ha Thi Cau; performing repertoire to promote the image of culture and tourism of Ninh Binh at Tam Coc boat pier.
Ninh Binh, known as the cradle of Cheo and Xam singing, has become familiar to those who love ethnic art forms. Who has once visited the land of the ancient capital, surely will not forget the silky melodies of artisan Ha Thi Cau - "the last Xam singers of the twentieth century", a treasure of folklore. However, through many ups and downs of history, the type of wagging art is at risk of being lost by the faded artists.
